We are thrilled to announce that Gralgo has made a remarkable debut at the Great Taste Awards, organised by the prestigious Guild of Fine Food! This was our very first time applying, and we are beyond proud to have received awards for all four of our entries.
The Great Taste Awards is recognised as the world’s largest and most trusted food and drink accreditation scheme. Winning a Great Taste Award is a mark of excellence, as products are rigorously tested by a panel of over 500 independent experts, including top chefs, buyers, food writers, and retailers. This accreditation is a powerful seal of approval that helps products stand out in today’s crowded marketplace. And we are proud to say – our products were deemed super delicious!
Here’s what the judges had to say about our award-winning products:
1. Gralgo Ceylon Vanilla and Rose Tea
“An attractive leaf with a profusion of pink rose petals delivers a coppery liquid with a delightfully creamy vanilla character. The tea delivers on its promise.”
2. Gralgo Ceylon Mango Tea Coin
“An intriguing manufacture – the infused leaf evidences the quality of the leaf. The mango flavour is gentle, sweet, and delicate. There is a pleasing balance between the tea and mango, and the whole feels nicely natural and gently pleasing.”
This marks a historic achievement – it is the very first time in Sri Lanka that a tea coin has received such international recognition at the Great Taste Awards. This award highlights the craftsmanship behind our tea coins, where we use only a single leaf and bud to create this mesmerising product, while also encouraging a shift towards this sustainable alternative to traditional tea bags.
3. Gralgo Ceylon Jasmine Blooming Tea
“The most beautiful dry product – it is absolute theatre to watch the flower open in the water. This pleasant, delicate pale pink liquid has a lightly floral jasmine nose. The tea works in harmony with the jasmine, which is floral and yet restrained.”
4. Gralgo Ceylon Cinnamon Sticks
